Biography

Goodnight Electric began as a Henry Foundation solo project in early 2004. Inspired by music from the early 1980s and 1990s, such as Depeche Mode, The Cure, Kraftwerk, Yazoo, Belle and Sebastian, and The Lighting Seeds. Using synthesizers and sequencers to keep it light, catchy and danceable by combining new wave and indie pop. Goodnight Electric turned into a pop electronic group with the help of Bondi Goodboy and Oomleo. Having took a three-year break until the end of 2015, Goodnight Electric is participating in several local music festivals again and touring in several cities across Indonesia. Earlier in 2018 they released a compilation album, "The Electronic Renaissance: Rarities & Unreleased Tracks From Goodnight Electric (2004-2012)", as well as holding a Goodnight Electric music archive exhibition from 2004 to 2018 at Ruru Gallery, Jakarta. Goodnight Electric returned to work on new material independently in mid-2019 and released the singles "VCR" and "Erotika" on 7-inch vinyl records. Vincent Rompies, Andi Hans, and Priscilla Jamail joined the band at the end of 2019 and recorded several new songs with Goodnight Electric. The band brings new sounds and ambient by exploring guitar, bass and modular synth. With their new materials, they try to bring dream pop and new wave into a dark mood. Goodnight Electric released their third album, Misteria, in May 2020.
