Biography
Fabio Armiliato, singer and actor, is one of the most important tenors of the international opera scene, acclaimed by the public for over three decades thanks to its unique vocal style, his impressive upper register, his innate musicality. Born in Genoa, he made his debut in 1984 as Gabriele Adorno in Simon Boccanegra beginning a rapid career that led him to address the most important roles of its register in all the most prestigious theaters in the world. In 1993 he made his debut at the NY MET with Il Trovatore , returning later with Aida, Cavalleria Rusticana, Don Carlo, Simon Boccanegra, Tosca, Fedora, Madama Butterfly and Andrea Chenier. In 1995 he made is debut at La Scala in Mefistofele. Since 2000 with her marriage in art and life with soprano Daniela Dessì has created one of the most important artistic couples of the history of opera, who got memorable triumphs in Andrea Chénier, Adriana Lecouvreur, Aida, Don Carlo, Norma, Manon Lescaut, Fanciulla del West and mainly in Tosca. Often hosted in popular opera TV programs he’s been awarded with the 1° Premio T. Schipa and with the prestigious Gigli d’Oro he was also proclaimed honorary citizen of Recanati. Fabio Armiliato starred in one of the main characters of Woody Allen’s film To Rome with Love (2012) and he has been awarded with the special Premio Puccini 2014. In 2019 he had a huge success in Adriana Lecouvreur at the Teatro Filarmonico of Verona and in Bizet’s Carmen at Arena di Verona.
