I never was a troublemaker But I did step out of line I put myself in situations Sprung from a young boys mind Like sneaking out at midnight Then getting caught There was no joy in being Brought home by a cop I never was a troublemaker But I did some foolish things Cause when you're young I guess you're destined To tempt what tomorrow brings Like testing every limit That's put in front of you But I knew those cigarettes Sure made me look cool Oh, there's a list of a millions things That I've forgotten, thankfully I never was a troublemaker At least I rarely got caught I had schemes, some call them dreams But I was only testing my luck That wasn't me on the telephone I'm sure it was someone else I swear I've got an alibi Just let me figure it out I never was a troublemaker But I did step out of line
