Biography

Originally from Svidnik, Slovakia, Jaromir Kurty was ten years old when his family relocated to Chicago where he quickly learned English and was introduced to the city’s hip-hop scene. He began producing when he was sixteen years old and worked on a number of projects ( Stravy, Sinner's Heist, Cocaine & Caviar) before launching plumpy in 2018. With the goal of getting people on their feet and celebrating, Plumpy’s set’s are characterized by bussing 808s with “plumped” reimaginations of global hits. Central european influences punctuate his experimental style to bring a new take on electronic music. Last two years plumpy has been focusing on his new duo project - The BELMONT BOYS which already have blossoming careers under their solo monikers plumpy and Très Mortimer. Now the Slovakian and Polish artists have come together to enter a new force of music. The two grew up in Chicago and were influenced by house genres, and have since developed their own combination of sound elements that work seamlessly together. Diplo premiered the BELMONT BOYS' first song together titled "BAMBU" at Burning Man 2018. "BAMBU" was released via Mad Decent, and has received 500k+ plays across streaming platforms.
