Biography
The Redroom, formed in late 2019 consists of Jessica Lewis-Ward on vocals and rhythm guitar, Jake Elliott on lead guitar, Dominic Aldridge on bass, Matthew Dodds on keys and synthesisers and Charlie McDonald on drums. Since their first release ‘Nostalgia’ in October of 2020 they have accumulated over 85,00 streams and their songs soon came to the attention of This Feeling, BBC Introducing and NARC. In 2021 they played ‘Hardwick Festival’ alongside Nile Rodgers and CHIC, This year they are set to open the MainStage for ‘Stereophonics’ at Hardwick as well as playing the MainStage at ‘Lindisfarne Festival’ alongside ‘Madness’. In late 2021 and early 2022 they sold out 2 headline shows; front woman, Jessica Lewis-Ward, ran an event called ‘Love Music, Hate Racism’ in July of 2022- an event showcasing a diverse range of talent whilst also raising money for ‘Stand up To Racism’, it was a massive success selling out and raising over £500 for the charity. The Redroom take influence from artists like Joy Crookes, Mac DeMarco and Lily Allen with their dreamy chord progressions and storytelling lyrics. Lewis-Ward’s care-free songwriting style highlights the female experience and touches on current issues faced by the younger generation of today. With 5 singles released and plenty to come, 2022 is shaping up to be a big year for the band.
