Biography

Norwegian singer/songwriter Hanne Sørvaag released her debut album «You Know Me» in 2002 under the artist name Paris. The album included three radio hits in Norway. Her second album «Talk of the Town» came out in 2006 under her own name. In 2011 she released the album «Cover Me» with her own cover versions of songs she had written for other artists, reaching top 10 in the Norwegian album chart. “All Is Forgiven” in 2012 was her first country album followed by a country Christmas album titled «Christmas Lights» in 2013. The album «Featuring» (2016) are collaborations with some of her favorite artists, and «Som om me hørte samen» (2018) is the first album in her native language. Hanne Sørvaag has also been successful writing for other artists. She has written more than 200 songs released by international and Norwegian artists including big hits in Australia, Japan, Mexico and Scandinavia. She wrote «My Destiny» with Tim Baxter and Harry Sommerdahl, performed by Katharine McPhee in the American Idol finals in 2006 reaching no. 2 on Billboard Hot 100. In 2011 Barbadian artist Shontelle had a US radio hit with the single «Say Hello to Goodbye» written by Sørvaag. In 2010 she became historic for being the first woman to compete with two songs as songwriter in the Eurovision Song Contest the same year, for Norway and for Georgia. Hanne has been a judge on two seasons of «The Voice» and in 2012 she won The Norwegian «Dancing With the Stars».
