Biography
Small news does not make into big newspapers. It is difficult to contain the water and even in the hardness of the shells, you can hear the distortion of its valves. VALV, from Brazil, formed in January 2000, refuses to end its existence. Refueled during flight, Filipe Monteiro is now on drums and Bruno Martinho on bass, along with the members of it's original lineup, Alessandro Travassos (voice and guitar) and Luciano Cota (guitar). The sabbatical years of the group did not represent an end, but reflections and compositions, maturation and planning. After the release of the Ammonite Ep in 2001 and the The Sense of Movement full album in 2004, the return is marked with the release of the Nautilidae Ep, with 5 songs produced by the band and recorded between 2016 and 2018. The songs present new textures of their own references and a mood of new trends, although rooted in the origins of the band. The Ep will be released in a partnership with Midsummer Madness (Rio de Janeiro / BR) and Cuchabata Records (Montreal / CA) and will be available on major digital platforms, on August 7th. In the meantime, here is a first single entitled "Driving In a Moonless Sky"...Fans of melodic rock with superimposed fuzzy guitars (...not hiding their craze for the 90s sound), you will be served!
