Biography

Consisting of 4 members from varying backgrounds, LAV.ISH reframes the contour of what it means to be a creative collective. Formed in the summer of 2017, vocalists Nim Kaufman and Carl Lane III, along with producers Lucas Brandt and Brandon Herman, spent their time in a small Iowa City apartment creating the songs that would change the course of their lives.​ In May of 2018, the group released their debut album "With A Dot In The Middle" receiving high praise from listeners around the country. That year, the group would open for Grammy winner Lizzo for the University of Iowa's Homecoming show. As the buzz increased, so did their involvement in Des Moines which included performances at 80/35 and 515 Alive music festivals. Eventually, LAV.ISH would create Des Moines CultureCon; an indoor music and arts festival produced and headlined by LAV.ISH. They aimed to provide an outlet to local artists and businesses to display their talents in the cold winter months. After a sell-out first year at the historic Wooly's in 2019, LAV.ISH repeated it's success with Des Moines CultureCon 2020, held at Val Air Ballroom. LAV.ISH released their sophomore album "Lost & Fond" April 24th, 2020 which garnered millions of streams across all platforms. The group would eventually move to Los Angeles, where they recorded their latest album "Another Good Day". LAV.ISH is currently working on new music and prepping for tour.
