Biography

Half Tangerine is a Costa Rican Pop/Rock duo formed in 2015 by multi-instrumentalists Ana María Aguilar & Daniela García. Their music encompasses inclusion, diversity and tolerance, creating a safe space with no fears nor taboos. In 2016 they published their first album “Nothing Until Finished”, which was awarded Best Pop Album by the Costa Rican Association of Composers and Musical Authors. The LP received airplay on popular radio stations in the country and included the videos “Half T” and “High on You”, the latter having received an Estela Award in 2019 for Best Central American Music Video. Among their numerous performances throughout Central America, Half Tangerine has shared the stage with Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Los Pericos, Jumbo and Diamante Eléctrico in major festivals such as Grito Latino, Transitarte and Festival Nacional de las Artes. In 2022, they’ll publish a series of new singles leading up to the release of their forthcoming album “8589”. Half Tangerine is a fresh and empowering act, with a synergy that flows in each one of their songs, videos and concerts.
