Biography

The sounds of Midnight Ambassador grew out of the small town in the south of Portugal, Beja, where André Graça grew up-- and at its core, the base of his music is still centred around the piano, saxophone and percussion that he studied at the conservatoire there. Moving to the UK to study Music Composition and Technology at the University of Hertfordshire gave him room to play with intricate lines and explore modern voices, to create the unique sound of Midnight Ambassador today. 
 André's picked up little influences from everywhere-- from his moves from Portugal, Hungary and now to England, and artists ranging from Childish Gambino, Glass Animals and Alt-J. His upcoming EP, Fragile Igloo, is his most personal yet, each song a chapter of his difficult move to London and his struggle to finally build a home there. 
 His music has already seen international success with heavy rotation on US internet radio, recent showcases at indieweek UK, Canadian Music Week 2019, and Camden Rocks presents. Midnight Ambassador has been featured by Radio DJ Gurus like Alan Cross (Canada) and Marco Collins (U.S.), as well as reaching number 4 in national radio listener charts back home in Portugal. 
 André Graça is showing what someone with a classical skillset can create within modern genres. With a sophisticated musicality that never overshadows the emotional potential of his music, lyrical dexterity and an unwavering attention to the beat, Midnight Ambassador is definitely one to watch.
