Biography
Norway's man in black Torgeir Waldemar readies the follow up to the successful studio album Love. Where Love was a loud band record, Mercy is the acoustic "sister record". The two albums are tied together and their titles combined, love and mercy, references the Brian Wilson song. Put together they are Waldemar's comment on the world today. Waldemar will present his music in spectacular fashion in Oslo opera house on March 20, 2022. "The Ballerina Session" is a combination of contemporary dance and rock concert and will be Waldemar's biggest solo show to date. Torgeir Waldemar’s self-titled debut album seemingly came out of nowhere in 2014 and took Norway by storm. His folky, mellow and tragic songs, the sinister vibes, his aching voice and his tall and dark, bearded and long-haired persona all combined to fully launch the artist Torgeir Waldemar. The critics went wild and comparisons to Neil Young, Gene Clark and the Laurel Canyon Scene in the 1970’s were widespread. Waldemar was nominated to Spellemann (Norwegian Grammy) awards in both the Country category and Newcomer of the Year.
