A gold record recipient, Michael’s music is largely inspired by the inspirational landscapes of the American Southwest, and Pacific Northwest, as well as emotions of the heart and soul. Gettel’s music topography extends from virtuosic solo piano, to full productions ranging from soulful acoustic to brilliant electric treatments. He has explored many musical genres, including Celtic on ‘The Journey North’, the deeply spiritual Southwest influenced, ‘Skywatching’, as well as the emotionally cathartic, ‘The Key’. His new album, ‘The View From Here’ pays homage to many of his most inspirational landscapes, specifically Southwestern Colorado, Northern England and Scotland, and France’s stunning Loire Valley. ‘The View From Here’ has been lauded by numerous critics and charted in second place on New Age Music Guide’s best of 2022 and One World Music Radio best solo piano category.
