Biography
Entering 2022 with the same laser-like focus and consistent work-ethic which have kept him at the top of his game for two decades, the good times just keep on rolling for David Penn. For all its pitfalls, 2021 was business as usual. Doubling-down on his production power by upscaling his home-studio space, he lay down solid foundations for taking his musical output to new levels, whilst continuing to tour the world in pandemic-resistant fashion! Still #1 ranked Beatport House Music artist, he also reclaimed his crown as #1 House artist on Traxsource thanks to a plethora of releases on Defected, Sweat It Out, Groove Culture and Glasgow Underground. Signing an exclusive publishing agreement and corresponding record deal with Defected, he rubber-stamped future intentions with ‘Lift Your Hands Up’, another supercharged gospel house anthem, followed by a classy remix of ‘No More Looking Back’ for Idris Elba & Inner City. Main stage appearances at Defected Drumsheds and Defected Croatia were memorable touring highlights, with his roof-raising remix of Junior Jack’s ‘Stupidisco’ a consistent high point. With 20+ years of output under numerous guises (including “Sun Rising Up by Deux and “Night train” by Kadoc, which sold 2 million copies globally), David’s ever-expanding arsenal of dancefloor anthems have cemented his position as the most exciting house music artist in the world right now. Always moving forwards, never standing still, you can be certain 2022 will be no different.
