Biography

Brother duo 'Lyon Apprentice' relocated to Melbourne at the end of 2017, bringing with them a collection of songs they began recording in a makeshift studio in Manchester, UK a year prior. Later teaming up with Grammy Award winning mix engineer Peter Katis (The National, Gang of Youths, Middle Kids), they released 'Starlight' in early 2018. Followed by 'Berry Go' and 'City Lights' in 2019, then 'Room With A View' dropping in early 2020. Spending the rest of 2020 in COVID-19 lockdowns, the brothers took the time to finish recording and mixing their debut album inside their home studio. Titled ‘Only For A Little While’, the LP was independently released on June 18th, 2021. The ten tracks are a combination of their own experiences and influences, both on a musical and personal level. Along the way, they've supported the likes of Big Scary, Bear's Den, Cub Sport (FKA Cub Scouts), Glass Towers, Battleships and Nantes. They were also amongst the inaugural winners of the MTV Unplugged competition, opening for Amy Shark in Melbourne. They also released their debut EP 'Be Honest, Be Wild, Be Free' back in 2014. Co-produced by Mark Myers (The Middle East, Emma Louise) and mixed by Catherine Marks (Alex Lahey, The Wombats, The Big Moon). Linking the EP & LP is the 2016 self produced single 'Alice' - a minimalist, dream-pop tribute to a longtime friend and the husband she lost.
