Biography

Adana Project is an Armenian symphonic metal band formed in 2014 by Aris and Arin Karamians. The brothers were born in Tehran, Iran in an Armenian family. They have always wished to have their own rock/metal band. But the wish would hardly be realized in Iran in the 1990s. Thus, the only way to achieve their goals was to leave that country and return to motherland Armenia (2005). Arin, who is a composer-keyboardist and Aris who is a drummer, had arranged some Armenian folk, national old songs earlier before the main band would be formed. At least, Mane Tonoyan (vocalist), Kegham Ghazarian (bassist), and Derenik Javadyan (guitarist) joined them in 2015 and the band Adana was full then. The name of the band has been chosen for a certain purpose: to make the ancient Armenian city of Adana reborn and relive as it is just a memory now and was ruined during the years of the Armenian Genocide. The same idea is in the song list: the band members try to give a new breath to the old songs. They present old Armenian folk, national, patriotic songs in the symphonic metal genre. But it is not the only thing they have planned to do. They will perform their songs too soon.
