Joey Contreras is a musical theatre and pop songwriter originally from California, now living in New York City. He is internationally known for his first album "Love Me, Love Me Not," which featured an all-star lineup of Broadway talent and spawned performances of his music around the world. [Check his Artist Playlist to hear that album!] In 2014, his second and more pop-focused album, "Young Kind of Love," immediately debuted in the iTunes Pop Charts. Out Magazine labeled the sophomore effort “sexy and catchy,” and branded Joey a “Broadway-pop crossover extraordinaire.” Joey has remained an active force in shaping and influencing the musical theatre pop landscape, whether it be with his pop-rock and country-influenced album "Joyride", his singles "Break from the Line" and the 2019 acoustic rendition of his popular song, "Love Me, Love Me Not" or even his contributions to Disney Junior with the animated short, “Kiwi’s First Flight,” featured in the series, “Lights, Camera, Lexi!” Hailed as one of Playbill’s “Contemporary Musical Theatre Songwriters You Should Know,” Joey is a 2018 Jonathan Larson Grant Finalist, and has numerous musicals in development including "All The Kids Are Doing It", "Forget Me Not", "Elements", "Heartbreakers In Hell" and his song cycle "In Pieces" which is now available for licensing.
