    Australian indie-alternative band Whitaker (Ryan Meeking, Simon Rabl, Brett Scapin) built their rich, melodic sound around timeless songwriting and an ever-evolving sonic pilgrimage - their latest effort ‘Live Wire’ and ‘Real Love’ a shining new step along the way. 
 The band define the double-single as their most ambitious, collaborative and personally satisfying work to date - citing Bill & Teds Excellent Adventure, Prince and the DMC DeLorean as major influences. Meeking, who took on the role of producer for the release, explains, “After making so much music with instruments laying the base for vocals to stand atop, it was time to bring out more of what makes Whitaker so special. Brett’s guitar work is the most enjoyable I’ve had the privilege to listen to, but too few other people have had the chance to really hear it. These songs seemed like the perfect moment to make more space for Brett’s sound - push it even - and put everything behind that big guitar energy. What we got was raw, exciting, earnest, expansive and just straight up good times to make. I think that vibe carries through for people listening. It’s the clearest window into the heart of Whitaker there’s ever been.”
