Biography
it’s pronounced ‘hour’ - With a voice to thaw the most glacial of hearts, Alice Auer first came to prominence collaborating with Conor Albert on 2021’s “Smile” EP. 10 million streams later, and having established herself as the heart and soul of a burgeoning London scene that includes contemporaries James Smith, Mathilda Mann and Maya Delilah, Alice’s sophomore EP “Baby, Cry” sees her move beyond her jazz roots embracing a broader range of influences including soul, folk, pop and R&B. Whilst the EP remains quintessentially Alice’s, it’s also the product of a group of friends (Alice, Conor Albert, James Smith and Seth Tackaberry) working collaboratively together across all four tracks, with Alice marshaling their production and performance skills around her flawless vocal. The closeness of the collaborators is audible, both in the love and care put into the music, and in the raw honesty in which Alice’s timeless voice explores new lyrical boundaries. Tackling themes of loss, pain, and masculinity from the female perspective, Alice was able to share her experiences with her creative companions, helping her process her hurt in a healthier way through her artistic endeavours. The result is a wonderfully moving and coherent artistic statement, released Spring ’23 on Young Poet. Bookings - marlon@atc-live.com
