This BONTI stuff is definitely fun. It’s music for you and who cares if anybody else likes it. But I’m afraid everybody will love this music. Why am I afraid everybody will love this music? Don’t you want everybody to love your music? In theory, sure. But if everybody loves BONTI, it means you are doing something that everybody understands. If they don’t understand it, it means you are doing something they may not be ready for. If they are not ready for it, it is the FUTURE! The future is not here but you’re ready for it! Do what you want! Yeah, BONTI is pop music in that broad sense of what “pop” means right now. Call it whatever you want. It’s rhythmic, it’s dirty, it’s melodic, it’s cute. It’s kinda like if you can imagine the whole band being drum machines. The singer is a drum machine, the live horns are a drum machine, synths and guitars are drum machines... and they're playing to a packed crowd full of drum machines. You just sneaked in, hiding in the back, pretending you're a drum machine hoping not to be found out. It’s just a big pile of funky rhythms dancing together with catchy hooks and melodies. Its gonna thrust you into tomorrow and send you back in a time machine where computers are half human and are preparing to defy their masters. The time is now!
