Biography
This band was assembled by former Balance / Alice Cooper / Meat Loaf guitarist Bob Kulick, with a line-up of former Quiet Riot members Chuck Wright (bass, ex-House Of Lords), Frankie Banali (drums, ex-W.A.S.P. ) and Jimmy Waldo (keyboards, ex-Alcatrazz), along with former Rainbow / MSG /Alcatrazz singer Graham Bonnet. Such an experienced team inevitably attracted the supergroup tag, but they were keen to play down their collective past to allow the band to be judged on its own merits, and not be viewed as merely a short-term project. The Kulick-produced Afterlife saw the band ignore trends and play in a classic hard rock style, with Kulick’s powerful guitar lines adding considerable weight to heavy, yet accessible, material that included a reworking of the Rainbow hit, ‘All Night Long’ (Bonnet felt that the original version was ‘not as heavy as it should have been’).
