Biography

Giovanni Ceccarelli is an Italian pianist, composer, arranger and teacher. He lives in Paris. His numerous artistic projects present a repertoire based on original compositions, own renditions of music by great contemporary composers - such as Ennio Morricone, Tom Jobim and Ivan Lins - and live soundtracks to silent movies. In 2014 his album "InventaRio Incontra Ivan Lins" received a nomination for the "15th Latin Grammy Awards" in the category "Best MPB Album". His discography amounts to sixty albums recorded as a soloist, guest soloist, arranger, producer and sideman. He gives concerts all over the world, collaborating live and in the recording studio with world-class artists such as Ivan Lins, Chico Buarque, Lee Konitz, Benny Golson, Marisa Monte and Enrico Rava. He teaches jazz, giving courses, seminars, master classes and conferences all over the world. Giovanni's new release is entitled "Pagine Vere", a collection of original music as a trio with vocalist and lyricist Michela Lombardi and guitarist Luca Falomi. In addition, he has recently released a sheet music book of original music, entitled "In Music's Hands".
