Biography
Cinnamon Chasers is an electronica alias of musician Russ Davies, with a unique set of influences fusing synthwave & progressive house through to indiepop & krautrock, creating a perfect escape into a world of dreams and fantasy. Russ is a British producer, having released over 20 artist albums under various alterego, including Abakus, Cinnamon Chasers & Aiiso, and his music has been commissioned for tv, film and game placements for AMC, BBC, Amazon, Sony Playstation, Calvin Klein, Spotify, Castrol Oil, Vanity Fair, Avon and many more. Russ grew up in north London, and is the son of Dave Davies of England rock band The Kinks. He started creating electronic music at 13 using an Amiga500 computer and 8-bit tracking software and Akai samplers, and his influences are 90s rave music, jungle, techno-trance and horror-action movies of the era. In 2016 Russ co-wrote and produced the critically acclaimed (Mojo, Independent, Rolling Stone, Earmilk, Mojo, Observer) album Open Road, together with his father. In this period Russ also signed his deep-house alter-ego Aiiso to Anjunadeep Records, and had tracks featured on two iTunes #1 albums. In 2009 Russ took creative solace with a new alias Cinnamon Chasers as an outlet for his love of retro-future nostalgia, otherworldly soundscapes, classic synthesizers & drum machines, and launched the project with the hit song & video Luv Deluxe. Currently Russ is putting finishing touches down on a new CC album for release later in 2023.
