Biography

The idea behind Elegeion was initially conceived during 1993 by Anthony (guitar / bass / vocal). After playing a few of the songs in death/doom style in another band Greydawn throughout 1993 and 1994, Elegeion finally materialized at the beginning of 1995 under the name Transcendence, consisting of Anthony and James (bass). 1996 saw the release of the demo of epic proportions "Induction to eternal rest..." which gave rise to interest from several European labels, tape traders and magazines worldwide. 1997 saw the demo's release on MCD by CANDLELIGHT records under the title "Odyssey into darkness". The year 2000 saw Elegeion travel interstate and enter Nesci Recordings for two months to independently record the ultra-emotive epic album "Through the Eyes of Regret". In 2002, Elegeion recorded single "For Blacker Things", now available on their bandcamp. In March 2004, Elegeion recorded their 3rd opus "The Last Moment", released by Dark Symphonies. 2010 saw the recording of the 15 minute single "Reignstorm", launched January 1st 2011. Due to many setbacks in 2020 due to half a year of Covid lockdowns, the latest recording took place from November 2020 to September 2021 by Jesse Oberin March and Mastered January 2022 at Fascination Street Studios, Sweden by Jens Bogren.
