Biography
Early Man is the brainchild of guitarist/vocalist Mike Conte. The band was born as Mike was writing and recording songs with a drum machine and his trusty 1973 SG on a Tascam Portastudio 4 track recorder while couch surfing in New York City in the early 2000's. Mike would eventually team up with drummer Adam Bennati and the 2 recorded a self released self-titled EP in 2004 that took the NYC lower east side scene by storm. Early Man added guitarist Pete Macy and a revolving door of superstar bass players (Matt Sweeney, Dave Pajo, James Ransone, Tim Rammage, Alex Conley, Tsuzumi Okai, Andy McCloud, etc let's stop here because this could go on for days) and began touring the country with the likes of The Sword, Priestess, Mastodon, Turbonegro, Iced Earth, and Venom just to name a few. The full-length debut, "Closing In", was released in 2005 on Matador Records. 2010 saw the release of "Death Potion" on The End Records. In 2014 the full length "Thank God You've Got The Answers For Us All" was released on Mike's own Label, Demon Problems, and was recorded with Jon Siren on the drums. Various digital singles and EP's have since been released.
