Biography
Born in West Java’s Bandung on June 9, 1991, Yura Yunita is a singer, songwriter, composer and producer. Her debut album, YURA (2014), produced hits such as “Balada Sirkus” and “Berawal Dari Tatap”. From the same album also came “Cinta Dan Rahasia”, a duet with the late Glenn Fredly that propelled Yura’s name to the national scene thanks to radio airplay. Yura was named Best Female Pop Solo Artist for two years in a row in the prestigious Indonesian Music Awards (AMI) in 2017 and 2018 with “Intuisi” and “Harus Bahagia”. She also received the Best Pop Song Writer award for “Intuisi” in the 2017 AMI Awards, while Merakit was named the Best Pop Album in 2019 . She is also awarded as “99 Most Influential & Inspiring Women” in 12th Globe Asia 2019 edition. She also has her own independent label. Alongside her music career, she also acts as a Brand Ambassador of some big multibrands : Cadbury , Head And Shoulders, Ooreedoo & Wardah. Toward the end of 2020, the prolific singer-songwriter had released a number of songs, including “Hoolala” with DJ Dipha Barus ; “Reflection - From "Mulan" along with three female singers; and “Duhai Sayang”, which she co-wrote with Indonesian singer-songwriter Tulus.
