Biography

Pebe Sebert has spent virtually all of her life making music, both on her own and alongside some of the music industry’s finest. She spent much of her youth singing and playing in bands and solo in coffee houses around the US and Europe. She scored her first #1 song in 1980 when Dolly Parton recorded “Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You,” written by Sebert with her then-husband Hugh Moffatt. The single proved a chart-topping favorite for Parton, who in 2017 joined Kesha for a duet version featured on Kesha’s critically acclaimed, RIAA platinum certified, #1 album, Rainbow. Sebert co-wrote 6 of songs on Rainbow which was Grammy nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album. But Pebe’s success started long before, she has collaborated and written for stars as Miley Cyrus, Kathy Mattea, Johnny Cash, June Carter, Miranda Cosgrove, Crystal Gayle, and Merle Haggard before working closely with Kesha on such blockbuster hits as the RIAA 4x platinum certified “Your Love Is My Drug” and Pitbull’s 9x platinum, #1 smash, “Timber (Feat. Kesha).” The past decade has since seen her joining forces with such masters of the songwriting craft as Ariana Grande, Max Martin, Greg Kurstin, Leslie Odom, Benny Blanco, Iggy Pop, and Pitbull to name but a few. Now, with the milestone arrival of “Vampire,” Pebe Sebert is finally poised to take her own rightful place in the pop spotlight.
