Biography

They say that music is the language of the soul, and nothing could be truer for DJ Red Core. Born "Romulo Basilgo Jr." started DJing in 2000. He was quickly discovered and became the resident radio DJ spinner of GMA's Cebu radio station 99.5 DYRT. While at GMA, DJ Red Core founded "Mixmasters DJ's" (MMD, now being handled by Randy Aznar--mentor of Muffin). 
 He left Mixmasters shortly in 2008 and joined the rival ABS-CBN MOR 97.1 "Rank 1 DJ's". An inspirational artist during this era in "Disco Mobile" music, along with the likes of DJ Whars and Master Junry, helped develop the strong, loud yet very eclectic bassline: the phoenomenal Budots (hard techno music with 138-140 BPM). Contrary to the popular belief, Budots didn't originate in Davao. However, the likes of DJ Rowel's Power Beats Club and St. John's Mindanao Mix Club were the main reason why this music has been greatly popularized even in Luzon. 
 DJ Red Core founded Cebu Mix Club and is one of the premiere DJ group in Visayas and Mindanao. Aside from Budots, their members are also diversely scattered in different genres like Trap, Hip Hop, Funk, House and even Electronic. Cebu Mix Club has earned their reputation as a group of talented Musicians,DJ's, Spinners and Producers. From live gigs to studio sessions and more, Cebu Mix Club continues to touch fans around the world with their distinct and enjoyable musical style. 
 DJ Red Core is currently the resident DJ spinner of Brigada FM Cebu.
