Biography
The Black Capes are a 5-piece gothic rock band, formed in 2016 in Athens, Greece. They have released three LPs: “All These Monsters” in 2017 and Lullabies for the Dead (2020) via darkTunes Records (Germany), “Looks Like Death” in 2022 via The Council Of Bones (U.S.A.) and Ikaros Records (Greece). The band consists of members from well-established Greek metal bands that include Inactive Messiah and Potergeist - all of which have years of experience in concerts inside and outside of Greece, including extensive European tours and appearances alongside Type O’ Negative, Moonspell, Paradise Lost, Tiamat, Kylessa, etc., making live shows and stage presence the Black Capes’ strong suit! “All These Monsters” reached the top 10 of the German Alternative Charts and remained there for a month. The legendary magazine Orkus, presented the Black Capes as “Band of the Month” for June 2017. The broader European music press took notice, which resulted in a great number of interviews and reviews. Over the years the band has been featured in the likes of Legacy, Rock Hard, Metal Hammer, Sonic Reducer, Powerplay, Orcus etc. The band’s third LP “Looks Like Death”, was recorded at Devasoundz Studios (Rotting Christ, Septic Flech, On Thorns Lay, etc). The album was produced by Peter Rutcho (Danny Elfman, Parkway Drive-IRE, Deez Nuts, Falling in Reverse, etc) . The band last pre covid-era shows were with Pertrubator and Theatre of Hate.
