Biography

This two-time Grammy nominee’s career has taken Cidny from singing back-up on tour with Elton John and singing lead vocals on the “Grease” movie soundtrack to having eight critically acclaimed solo albums, including the award winning Desire Wire, Somewhere Between Heaven and Earth, Neverland, dream #29, and Howling Trains and Barking Dogs. Cid’s friends on the albums include friends Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, Bryan Adams, Emmylou Harris, Delbert McClinton, and Sir Elton John himself. Cidny has also co-written songs in Nashville, producing several charting singles including Radney Foster’s hit “Hammer and Nails”. Cidny is one-third of “super-group”, The Refugees- with Wendy Waldman and Deborah Holland. In 2011 Cidny made the difficult and daunting decision to transition from Cindy to Cidny. He has written and has been performing his one-person theatrical show Somewhere Between: Not An Ordinary Life all over the U.S. Cid recently completed his first album as “CIdny Bullens” in Nashville entitled Walkin' Through This World. The album is co-produced with long time friend Ray Kennedy (Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell, Lucinda Williams) The will be released 8/21/20. Single “The Gender Line” was released on 7/13/20 and is available on all digital platforms. A video of the single can be viewed on Youtube, Facebook and Instragram. An award winning documentary short about his life, also called The Gender Line, is now screening at major film festivals around the world.
