Biography
Daalight, New York's Prodigal SUN is back lighting up the scene with his new EP titled The Wake Up. The project features 8 tracks with no hooks that provides an intimate and detailed look into the life behind the art. With songs like the project's intro which Daalight speaks on 2 shootings that took place at an East Atlanta apartment he rented while working on new music. The Wake Up also offers some controversial tracks and lines such as tracks like Who's Baby Lane? where he sinisterly jokes; "F--- around and kill ya favorite rapper like I'm Baby Lane." followed by an onslaught of punchlines and audacious one liners. Tracks like Head Hunter where Daalight offers his insight on street politics with bars like "Aside from all that tellin' on my plug, I'm Larry Davis nigga." The Wake Up is clearly food for the streets, but the self proclaimed "Professional Side Nigga" kept something on the menu for the ladies with songs like Face Down and Dangerous, a Simon Says style twerk anthem. The Wake Up was offered as a wake up call for Daalight's much anticipated sequel to his D.R.U.G.S. (Dollars Rule Under God's Shoes) mixtape series and it looks as though the streets have answered and approve. The Wake Up EP is available now on all streaming platforms. https://instagram.com/daalight?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
