Biography

On April 29th, Damn The Witch Siren is set to release the debut single “Vulture Culture” from their new album Gold Magic (out July 29th on their own label, Baddest Bitch Records). The song precedes the release of the feature film Poser, produced & directed by Loose Films (the movie is getting a national theatrical release on June 3rd, distributed by Oscilloscope Labs). Bobbi Kitten and Z Wolf co-star in the film as themselves, and it features several of the band’s songs as well as some original score by Z Wolf.
Shortly after the band finished their work in Poser, it was one of six films selected for the US Narrative Feature competition at Tribeca Film Festival 2020. Just two days after the New York premiere, she was contacted by an agent for 3 Arts Entertainment and landed her second role in the upcoming John Slattery film Maggie Moore(s) starring Jon Hamm and Tina Fey.
The album came quickly after that, as Bobbi focused in on her complicated relationship with money, fame, youth, beauty, and all the modern ideals. Gold Magic was born. On the surface, it’s a shiny album taking cues from modern pop, rock, electronic dance and R&B, with nods to swing music and samples of 1920’s jazz. But the lyrics betray the glamor; there’s a dark undercurrent that reveals itself moment by moment. Friends are fair-weather. Men are the gate-keepers and half of them just want something from you. Money isn’t liberating, it’s demeaning. The beauty is an Instagram filter. This is Fool’s Gold.
