Biography

Ellie Kim, aka SuperKnova, is a Korean-American, transgender musician who creates Queer Pop, a unique sound that incorporates electronic drums, moody synths, and dreamy guitar solos. She writes about identity, queerness and the struggle to be your authentic self. Her music has received significant praise and has been featured on Showtime’s Work In Progress, MTV, GoldFlakePaint and multiple Spotify editorial playlists. A one-woman band, she produces and records all of her own music. Drawing on her 15+ years as a professional musician, she builds many of her songs live on-stage through looping and multiple instruments. She performs both locally and nationally and is currently working on a second full-length album.
