Biography

Nemesea is a Dutch alternative rock band, formed in Groningen, The Netherlands. Initially, Nemesea was a symphonic gothic metal act and were compared to Dutch compatriots After Forever with a sound comparable to Evanescence and Lacuna Coil. Following their 2007 crowd-funded sophomore studio LP breakthrough In Control , the band began to incorporate more electronic flourishes into their heavy sound. Arriving in 2016 the band released UPRISE which was produced by Guido Aalbers (Muse, Coldplay, No Doubt) and included the singles "Hear Me" and “Twilight." This would be the last effort recorded with Ophuis, who parted ways with the group in 2016. She was replaced by Sanne Mieloo. Continuing in the same sonic manner, the band continued to incorporate electronics and a more polished pop sense with their latest release White Flag in 2019 with Sanne Mieloo on vocals.
 Nemesea has released 5 studio albums. Mana (2004), In Control (2007), The Quiet Resistance (2011), UPRISE (2016) and White Flag (2019) A live album "Live@P3" (Remixed and remastered) and 5.1 Surround versions of In Control and Live@P3 5.1 (2015). 4 singles with new singer Sanne Mieloo. 'Hear Me' and 'Twilight' both taken from the 2016 album UPRISE and 'Dance In The Fire' (May 2017), and No Good. 2 singles with HJ on vocals (Wake Up & New Years Day). Working on new music to be released in ’23
