Biography
On the single “Bored”, Alexa Villa charismatically exclaims, “If you could focus all of that energy on yourself instead of me, how pretty your world would be. Classically-trained musician, it represents the defensive shield that she has had to bear her entire life. “School was tough for me. I was made fun of a lot for my scrawny appearance and over the top personality, so I tried to immerse myself in music and theater and focus on performing.” “I come from a family of dreamers. Growing up, we didn’t have money..we had music”. Watching her parents play in bars lit the spark which led to Alexa branching out as a performer. “My dad played bass at some of my early shows, and my mom and I both sang on my brother’s first album”. This love for performing has led Alexa to opening slots for Alec Benjamin, Hinds, The Darkness, Ryan Cabrera and Night Club, to name a few, where she has honed her craft as the sharp-yet-charismatic artist she is today. “Bored” features guest vocals from Colie Hutzler of Beauty School Dropout. co-produced by Villa with Ian Walsh (Upsahl,Phem) and mixed by Adam Hawkins (MGK, Demi Lovato). After spending countless hours trying to figure out where she went wrong, Villa came to the realization that “Some people have nothing better to do than hate on happy people. I felt if they spent more time working on themselves and choosing positivity there would be no time to waste talking about me.” More info @thealexavilla
