Biography

Oro Swimming Hour is the musical pairing of longtime pals Oliver Wilde and Nicholas Stevenson. They return with their signature sound of intimate lo-fi pop and freak-folk wooziness, with new album Pterodactyl out October 31st on Bristol, UK label Gold Day. Featuring an array of musical guests; Benjamin Spike Saunders, Sleep Radio, Robbie & Mona, Herbal Tea and more. Mastered by Warren Hildebrand (Foxes in Fiction). In 2017 they released their debut record 'Penrose Winoa' on Art Is Hard, which was recorded in the space of five short days in the living room of Oliver's shared house using just tape recorders. The album consisted of 17 short tracks and was mastered by Foxes Warren Hildebrand. Their sophomore album 'Lossy' was released in 2019, recorded in two sittings on tape recorders in Nicholas's home office and Oliver's living room. Indulging the curiosity of pure musical discovery, Oro Swimming Hour invites you to take a leap into the world of Pterodactyl, spanning 20, mostly short songs and home recordings, retaining a child-like wonder, à la Daniel Johnston and those associated with outsider arts. Much like their debut and follow up, each track is floating induction of nostalgia.
