Biography

Katie Pearlman was searching for her mantra but she didn’t even know it. An LA native who spent her formative years performing music and studying philosophy in New Orleans, she returned home from college with a job as a pop songwriter. After three years of writing for major labels artists, the structure of the music industry proved to be at odds with her free spirit. In search of meaning, she embarked on a week long silent meditation retreat which brought into focus that something was missing. So she went out searching, for what she didn’t know. What resulted was a year of traveling alone, soul searching, journaling, and a lot of intimate demos made with limited resources. These songs are meditations. These songs are self care. These songs are unconscious. With the freedom of no one watching, she made the mantra songs.
