Biography
“Shorebound is a remarkable collaboration…an album that defines today’s Americana.” NO DEPRESSION “Outstanding collaborations and solo songs from fast-rising Northern Irish Americana exponent…Shorebound is superbly crafted and establishes Glover in the next phase of his career.” AMERICANA UK Born and raised in Glenarm, Northern Ireland, Nashville based Ben Glover has been hailed around the world as one of Ireland’s finest exports. A compelling songwriter and a dynamic performer, his latest studio album, Shorebound, won the 2019 UK Album of The Year at the Americana Music Association UK Awards. I’m a believer in cycles, and 2018 marked ten years since I released my first album,” Glover says, “so it feels very much that this album is a major turning point in a cycle. Shorebound is an acknowledgment of where I am and a celebration of the people who I’ve gotten here with.” Indeed, collaboration has long filled Glover's career. From co-writing the Americana Music Association UK's 2016 International Song of the Year (“Blackbirds”) with Gretchen Peters to joining forces with Neilson Hubbard, Joshua Britt and others as the Orphan Brigade, playing well with others is something Glover both excels at and enjoys. In addition to co-writing with Hubbard and Peters, he joined forces with friends on both sides of the Atlantic for Shorebound, including Ricky Ross (frontman and songwriter from Scottish rockers Deacon Blue), Mary Gauthier, Kim Richey, Angel Snow, Amy Speace & Robert Vincent.
