Biography

The story about childhood friends Kaspar Kaae (Cody) and Brian Batz (Sleep Party People) dates back to their teenage years in Bornholm where they were both born and raised. They went to high school together, cultivated their shared interest in music, and played together in bands. These years became the cornerstone of their friendship and musical collaboration. It was their shared love of film that led Kaae & Batz to compose their first score in 2010 in a two-bedroom flat in Nørrebro. It was for the short film Neel, directed by Jeanette Nordahl (Wildland). They’ve since had success with composing for feature films, such as In Order of Disappearance, Out Stealing Horses, and the Netflix series Bordertown. Kaae & Batz is ready with a new album. The first single “Into the Void” is released 15th September 2021, while the album L.U.S.H lands 29th October 2021, both digitally and on vinyl on Copenhagen-based record label StereoRoyal.
