Biography

Dirk Busch started with music at the age of 9 inspired by American students at his parent’s home. With 13 years he performed on stage for the first time as a clarinetist with a Dixieland band. Later on he was financing his study (sociology, economics and psychology) at the University of Cologne as a singer, guitarist, clarinetist and saxophonist with several bands. After the final degree he continued academic activities, did his doctorate and became a university professor at the age of 28 at the University of Bremen. Simultaneously with his academic career he had already written various songs and had made music albums released by major companies like Teldec, Warner or Universal. Songs like "Du bist keine Mona Lisa", "Liebst du auch den rauhen Wind", "Ich zieh den Bauch nicht mehr ein" oder "Du kennst mich" made it to the German charts. The hit single "Sie beißt und kratzt" has become a classic. In the nineties Dirk Busch had a secondary residence in the USA. There he produced ambitious instrumental music in the style of Larry Carlton or George Benson. Albums i. a. by Douglas Datwyler, David Scott, Voss, Christopher Dean, Decebal Badila. In addition he wrote songs for artists like the Italian singer Milva or the international renowned actor Mario Adorf. For the American blockbuster "Anastasia" he contributed the German lyrics together with M. Woodlake. Dirk Busch has written more than 400 songs and released more than 30 albums. He sings in German, Italian and English.
