Biography
Born out of a life of trials & tribulations, Ashlee Williss’ story is one of a singer-songwriter who needed music to escape - and turned that escape into her purpose. Seamlessly blending pop, country & dance, her sound & story connect with audiences who crave that same escape. Raised in Jacksonville, FL with an alcoholic dad, Ashlee learned that her ability to entertain kept her father's violent nature at bay. After seeing Trisha Yearwood perform at the county fair, she realized that she herself could turn her passion into more than just a distraction. Eager to seek out more than her humble beginnings had to offer, Ashlee headed to LA at 18 and saw opportunities including high profile performances at places like The GRAMMYS®; several song placements on TV/Film; acting features on The Bachelor, Fuller House & Kingdom. After tragedy struck (Ashlee’s boyfriend died the day she launched her debut song, "You Only Want Me When You're Wasted"), she took time away and found herself a new artistic direction & identity as a DJ under the name DJ Bad Ash. She quickly made a name by opening for acts like Snoop, Gwen Stefani, Diplo & Adam Levine (among others) & taking the stage at festivals like Stagecoach, Tortuga Music Fest & Country2Country. Though DJ'ing made Williss fall in love with music again, “I missed playing my own songs.” Partnering with hit producer T.I Jakke (Ava Max, “Kings & Queens”), “Don’t Let the Music Die” will launch the first of several new tunes by Ashlee.
