Biography
Jethro Fox is a songwriter and session musician from Colchester who released his first single ‘Before’ in 2011. Produced by friend and university classmate Tarek Musa (Spring King, Dead Nature) and influenced by the Beach Boys and Grizzly Bear, ‘Before’ was a hit in the blogosphere, earning a Maida Vale session for Steve Lamacq. After putting out second song ‘Echo’, Jethro signed a single deal with Tough Love Records and ‘Blinding Light’ was released shortly after. In 2013, Jethro took a break from his own music and joined Dan Croll on tour across the USA as guitarist. He went on to co-write ‘Must Be Leaving’ on Dan’s debut album ‘Sweet Disarray’ and collaborated with Dan on three songs from his follow up ‘Emerging Adulthood’ (‘One of Us’, ‘January’ and ‘24’). With his solo material on hold, Jethro spent several years writing and performing with Carnival Kids. The four-piece recorded their debut album with Bill Stevenson (Black Flag, Descendents) at the Blasting Room studio in Colorado. Still working on his own demos in his spare time, Jethro then joined Elena Tonra’s solo project Ex:Re in 2018 as live guitarist, reuniting him with good friend and drummer/producer Fabian Prynn. In 2021, Jethro returned to his own music. Stylistically a melting pot of all these previous experiences - and with firm nods to Thom Yorke and TV On The Radio - his new single ‘Time Alone’ was recorded by Prynn and is the first of several planned releases.
