Biography

Grammy® Winning Producer, Composer, Trombonist, and Arranger Doug Beavers follows his 2018 Grammy® Nominated effort “Art of the Arrangement” with a brand new, full-length suite of original compositions of sun drenched, afro-cuban and R&B inspired music entitled simply, Sol on his new label Circle 9 Records. Being of mixed black and Spanish race himself, Beavers grew up listening to soul and R&B music, afro-cuban music, and jazz.  After moving to New York and receiving his Master’s Degree in Composition from the Manhattan School of Music in 2002,  he received his formal “street” education in another passion, that of Latin music from the likes of NEA Jazz Master Eddie Palmieri. He currently serves as lead trombonist and co-producer for the Grammy Winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra, receiving his first Grammy as producer in 2018 for their acclaimed effort “Anniversary”.
