Biography
Born in Brooklyn amidst a resurgence of New York-based rock bands including Interpol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs! and the Strokes, Atomic Tom recorded their debut album The Moment in a 3rd floor apartment with microphones in the bathtub and amps piled high in a closet. Atomic Tom caught the attention of Republic Records and signed a deal following a sold out Arlene’s Grocery residency. After the album release was delayed, Atomic Tom took their career back by filming their iPhone performance of “Take Me Out” on the B Train, their performance racked up 2 million views in less than a week. The stunt setup Atomic Tom for a banner year with performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, George Lopez Tonight!, Rachel Ray, CNN, E! and others. Atomic Tom followed The Moment with a cover of Human League's “Don't You Want Me”. The video featured Anna Faris, Teresa Palmer, Topher Grace & Dan Fogler. Following the release of their EP In Parallel in 2012, Atomic Tom hid out in Los Angeles to begin recording their second full length album. After three years and a departure from their label, Era was independently released in 2015. “Someone to Love” was featured on the "New Music Friday", "It's Alt Good" and "License to Chill" playlists. Atomic Tom are back in the studio working their way through new songs. Follow here on Spotify to stay up to date.
