Biography
Candy Apple Blue is an American two-piece synth-pop band consisting of sibling songwriting and music production team Carly and Hoyt Emerick. The musical duo has made waves in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania indie music scene with their local hit songs and YouTube music videos. They often feature outside vocal talent on their releases (e.g. Alaska Thunderfuck, Nick Bramlett, Apollo Rogers, Daveo Falaveo, Espen Kraft, Christina Siravo, Barry Brayleo) and draw inspiration from the 1980s. Most recently, they worked with producers Juno Dreams and Matt Pop on their fourth full-length studio album titled Second Sight. The band is currently working hard on new music for their forthcoming album, Breakthrough. Candy Apple Blue has also found success as songwriters. They have written the tracks Between Love and Goodbye and I Won’t Say Adieu (from the Logo TV hit film Between Love And Goodbye). They have also composed the Sirpaul version of Going Down In La-La Land which was used as the title track for the motion picture. Carly Emerick, of the band, also penned the track Just Can't Stop My Heart for Australian singer Peter Wilson. Candy Apple Blue continue on their own musical journey as a synth-pop band. Being songwriters at heart, they also work with both up-and-coming and established artists. Genre: Synthpop, New Wave, Synthwave, Dance Pop, Europop, Hi-NRG, Italo-Disco, Pop, New Retro, and Retro Pop
