Biography

Zmey Gorynich is an extremely non-standard extreme music project from Moscow, Russia, playing a mixture of perky theatrical metal with russian folk instruments, black metal elements and deathcore breakdowns with unique slavonic skomorokh-humor lyrics named "lubok-core". The band was formed in 2012 by two well-known musicians of domestic Russian metal scene: Demether Grail aka Mityay (of Grailight, Skylord; ex-Arcane Grail) and Arsafes aka Kudeyar (of Kartikeya, Arsafes). On November 15, 2016, Zmey Gorynich presented EP "Malafya". After that, having completed the lineup with bassist Gvozd (of Kartikeya) and drummer Stalin (of Kartikeya) in 2017, the skomorokhs began concert activity. July 6, 2018 debut big album "Mother Russia" about 14 tracks, with covers of E-Type and Rammstein, was released on SoundAge Productions label. In 2019 the band fully renewed their line-up and in the winter began the recording of their second album, released in 4th June 2020 and entitled "Devilish Dances". To the New Year of 2021, 31th December live concert album "Живе на Московiи" released.
