Biography
Dandelion Head is the solo project of LA/Melbourne based musician and songwriter J.Blynn. In the middle of 2021, J was living in his partner’s hometown of Melbourne, Australia. The couple moved there to have their first child and escape the raging of the pandemic in LA. Ready to make the second Dandelion Head album, he set up a little studio just outside the city in a little mud brick structure on a hillside of eucalyptus trees. Pandemic life in Melbourne was relatively normal, and just when friends and collaborators were organized to help, an intense lockdown of the city went into effect that would last 4 months. J pressed forward on his own. He leaned into the immense freedom and the beauty of the location, emerging with 12 new tracks that tell the story of a person in flux, finding his way through the change brought on by the birth of his child and by a world turning more chaotic by the day. The songs deal with vulnerability, the search for connection, the hypocrisy of politicians and shapeshifters, and the strength of love in a hectic time. J has also toured internationally with other artists such as Lucius, Richard Marx and Sui Zhen. Songwriting and production credits: Co-writing the second single from Sara Bareilles’s grammy nominated album The Blessed Unrest, Elliphant, Rose Elinor Dougall (The Pipettes), Matt Simons, Set Mo, Jenny O, Roofeeeo (TV on the Radio, Buddy), Pelle (The Hives), Emma Louise, Sui Zhen, Say Lou Lou, Sammy Brue, Banoffee and Rogue Wave.
