Biography
Blending pop sounds with soulful ease, Starley is a singer/songwriter from Sydney, Australia. Growing up in a family of five children, Starley discovered a love for writing songs as a means of escape and expression. At 21, she moved to London to make a name for herself as a songwriter. The challenges of starting anew in a foreign country presented Starley with minor successes and major setbacks, ultimately leaving her down on her luck and dollar, depressed and searching for answers. After moving back into her parents’ house in Sydney, Starley gave it one more go as she sat down at the keyboard, questioning her faith, God’s role in her journey and her own talents… A personal reflection that ultimately led to her writing the song that would become “Call On Me”. Taking on a role as her own A&R, Starley sent the song to every producer in her contact list and eventually landed the song on a small indie label in Australia. The answers to the artist’s questions came soon thereafter, as the 2017 song (and subsequent Ryan Riback Remix) resonated with listeners to the tune of over 1 billion global streams to date. Starley has since released a string of singles, graced the pages of Vogue and InStyle, toured worldwide supporting Katy Perry, Clean Bandit and Cher (the latter at Sydney’s much-hyped 40th Mardi Gras celebration). Her eagerly anticipated debut album 'One of One' is out now
