Biography
Melbourne’s Symphonic Metal singer/songwriter Victoria Knight (pseudonym Victoria K) released her debut single Monster, in 2016. On May 5, 2019, Victoria K released her brand new single Lacuna, distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Warner Music Group, the first offering off the debut album Essentia. The band was formed and on the 18th of May, 2019, Victoria K played the main support for Eluveitie in Melbourne and produced a performance that had the crowd chanting for an encore. Essentia was released via Rockshots Records on the April 24, 2020 which features Michalina Malisz, and was also featured in Legacy Magazine (Germany) and Heavy Magazine (Australia). Essentia debuted at #17 on the Australian iTunes Rock & Metal Charts and won Album of the Year in the Femmetal Awards 2020 and was a finalist in the Best Band, Best Music Video categories and Best Operatic Vocals categories. Due to the global pandemic Victoria K was unable to tour so in June, 2020 they played a worldwide Live Stream Show from the studio via Rockshots Twitch Channel and have since released a DVD of the event. In 2021/2022 , Victoria K completed a 9 show Australian Tour through Melbourne, Wollongong, Newcastle, Sydney (sold out), Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide, Whyalla (sold out) and Broken Hill. October 14, 2022 will see the release of Victoria K's sophomore Album ' Kore', a concept album based on the Homeric Hymn to Demeter (tale of Persephone) and showcases a sonic shift in the bands sound.
