Biography
JAGGU formed 2018 in Oslo, Norway. A Norwegian/British powertrio that bonded over a collective goal of making heavy music. "Norway doesn't live only in black metal, as JAGGU, a trio that roams the streets of stoner, rock and psychedelics, prove. It remains to be said that they are one of the most interesting and eared bands we've heard in recent times. We could mention clear influences from bands like Clutch or High On Fire, but that would be disrespectful to the creativity of the band, who are nothing short of those two names. We haven't heard a debut album as exciting as "Revenantian" in a long time." - METAL HAMMER PORTUGAL The men of JAGGU has certainly proven their existence over the years. The steady course from back- to foreground of the flourishing Oslo-scene has been fueled with heavier riffs for every occasion. A solid confidence gained by hard work, creativity and a love for heavy, sludgy music. JAGGU dropped their new, astonishing full length «Rites for the Damned» in 2023, An album that will bring the sonic palette of JAGGU to ears way outside of Oslo. This album totally rips! JAGGU shows a fearless approach with their mentioned creativity, both riffs and vocals are refreshingly commanding. Some might draw comparison to the glory days of a certain Georgia quintet even. -HØSTSABBAT FESTIVAL 2023 “Asbear” aka Asbjørn Halsten - bass, vocals “Mario” aka Marius Melleby - guitar, vocals Nona Simpson - drums, vocals
