Biography
Trap mastermind Jackal broke into the popular consciousness with his 2013 debut release ’Shakedown’ (1 million+ SoundCloud streams). An immediate hit with its low BPM blend of heavy hip-hop bass and dancehall vocals, the track immediately branded him as one of electronic music’s most dynamic producers. More home runs followed, including Chinchilla (2014) and Animal Style (2015). With his beats frequently making it into the sets of EDM titans Skrillex and Diplo, and remixed by artists such as LOUDPVCK and Getter, Jackal was further supported by industry giants Tiësto and Justice. Discovered in Canada by the ascending Milo & Otis where he was introduced to Skrillex, Jackal would later join DJ Minnesota on his near 40-date Mind Machine Tour of America and support Skrillex at the Sundance Official Party at Park City Live. Another critical stepping stone, the show led to further high-profile gigs alongside Skrillex at WOMB, Tokyo plus Lollapalooza and EDC Las Vegas. 2017 saw the release of the Endorphins EP and, the following year, Don’t Come Near Me I Am A Monster signed to bass-heavy DJ/producer RL Grime’s Sable Valley label. Jackal was later invited to join RL’s Sable Valley Tour in 2019, playing support shows in New York, San Francisco and LA. With 100K+ monthly listens on Spotify and releases on Skrillex’s OWSLA and Diplo’s Mad Decent, Jackal’s popularity continues to escalate, while his maturation signifies an artist consciously striving to reach the next level.
